Hurray! The fashion gods are bringing us good news: Burberry s planning a beauty collection. From now on, we can wear Burberry all the way. A spokesmen told on WWD that it is going to be an entire beautycollection. So that means: mascara, lipgloss, foundation, lipstick etc. I love it allready. Just this one thing: You can't get the collection untill July 2010 ánd you can only get it at Galeries LaFayette in Paris and Nordstrom in America. So that means a trip to New York or Paris for me this summer!

This morning I came across a horrible rumour.

Is Karl Lagerfeld leaving Chanel? Diane Pernet, the black widow of fashion, says so.

On her blog, http://www.ashadedviewonfashion.com/ she tells ‘This is not a fact until you officially read it somewhere else but rumour has it that Karl Lagerfeld will not renew his contract at Chanel and that Albert Elbaz will take his place and Olivier Theyskens will take Albert's place at Lanvin. Both choices make perfect sense to me. Schaparelli has decided to change directions and do a not so expensive line . Nothing is engraved in cement, these are still just rumours you will have to wait and see.’ - Diane Pernet.

I had a day off so I woke up late, put on the telly and ate breakfast in my PJ's. I put on a music channel and heard a beat I liked.
I saw a guy in awesome outfits, kinda rock meets hip-hop. When I looked a little closer I recognized the guy from the song 'lollipop'. It was Lil' Wayne..!

The first thing I had to have while in France was...

FRENCH VOGUE!

Offcourse. It stood there in a french store looking at me. Screeming at me. The entire shop went blurry, all I could see was Vogue. So I had to buy it, right?

I never bought a Vogue in my life before, in Holland we don't have Vogue. I must say, it looks a bit like ELLE, which we 'thank god' do have.

With that Vogue was their 2009 calendar. Theme 'Pin up girls'. (Sorry for the big pictures, hard to get them smaller. If I do, they'll become way too small. So I'll give you both!)

Back from Paris

Here I am. Tired as hell, sounding like a seal (coughing and laughing) but it was absolutely worth it. Paris was Fantabulous.

I saw every museum that I wanted except for the museum where Monet, Manet, Cezanne and Van Gogh are exposed cause the waiting line was around 4 hours and we only had 1 left. So that was too bad.

Offcourse, the shopping was awesome. Lafayette is paradise. The most beautiful shops are placed in this one big and beautiful shopping mall. Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Clinic, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, Tod's, Salvatore Ferragamo and I can go on like this.

Next to LaFayette is Le Printemps which is gorgeous also. When you walk passed it, it is complety lighted with the cutest christmas and newyear lights.

NEWYEAR'S EVE

Le Champs-Elysées was very pretty too. That is were we celebrated New Year's Eve. We bought a good bottle of Champagne, put our cocktail dresses on (unfortunetely it was very cold. We walked around in big coats and scarfs), put on red lipgloss and a little crown and off we went to the Champs-Elysées. With aproximately two milion (for real!) people we stood on the Champs-Elysées were we popped the bottle of champagne and celebrated New Year's Eve.

It was Fantabulous.

Yes, I still can't believe it. Super excited. Tomorrow I'm leaving. Off to Paris. Celebrating Newyear's eve there. I just packed my suitcase and it's stuffed! I put in three cocktail dresses to look Fabulous on the night of 31 decembre, I packed as many clothes as possible. I even took my tiara... Just a little problem, where to stuff my pumps? My fabulous stilleto's that I want to wear? I'll have to get myself another bag next to my suitcase and handluggage. Oh well, no problem. As long as I look fantastic in Paris.
You know what, it is actually sale in Paris. So you know what that means? I'M ON THE LOOSE! Got to buy those to die for Louboutin pumps and absolutely visit Chanel.
I can't wait!

Barbie, dumb?

As you might know my hair is long and blonde. I'm not a big girl and I love to dress nice. The word I very often hear 'thrown' at me is 'Barbie!'. I can get so angry about that, for barbie is known for her airheadness.

It kind of made me think. You know, Barbie DID have her own pet-clinic, her own lawyer-office, her own doctor-set, and I can go on like this. Ken, on the other hand, had nothing. Yeah a suitcase. Nothing more. Just a suitcase.

So, my conclusion, when somebody tries to call you 'Barbie' it's actually a compliment. Barbie is beautiful AND a very bright girl. So there you go. You go Barbie!

PARIS PARIS, I'm going to PARIS!

Yes, my 'Partner in Crime' wat betreft Parijs heeft de tickets binnen!

It is on! Party, Shopping, New-Year's eve, Fashion... allen te vinden Parijs!

Ondanks dat mijn kast volhangt met LBD's en Cocktailjurkjes, kon ik de verleiding niet weerstaan om een nieuw cocktailjurkje voor Parijs aan te schaffen.

Minstens één keer in de week sinds ik hem heb, trek ik hem aan met pumps en een tasje en fantaseer ik over Parijs.

Het is wel duidelijk, erg geduldig ben ik niet.

Winter Wonder Land

When I got up this morning, I saw to my surprise; it snowed outside!

Winter betekent dus weer nieuwe mode, nieuwe trends en nieuwe leuke dingetjes in de winkels.

Zo heb de Snowjoggers van Rubber Duck gespot en die zijn zó tof.

Eigenlijk zijn ze net zo fout als crocs en uggs (stiekem heb ik ook uggs) maar ze zijn toch zo geweldig.

Bont. Ik weet het. Heel fout. Maar het staat wel heel chique. Duidelijk voor nep-bont gaan of voor tweedehands, dat maakt het dan weer enigszins goed.

De afzakmuts. Geweldig en lekker warm.

Minnetonka's. Die zijn echt ge-wel-dig. Ik wil ze nog hebben, en ik ben jaloers op iedereen die ze heeft.

Kortom, veel geld houdt ik niet over deze winter!

So the other day, one of my friends called to ask what I was wearing. Geen ideeeeeee! We gingen naar een surf feestje en we hadden 'no idea what to wear'. Aan de telefoon hangend zochten we naar websites met inspiratie toen ze opeens riep 'oooh! ik weet een vette site!' Deze site, genaamd chictopia, is echt bril-iant. Honestly.

Allemaal überhippe mensen, met fabulous outfits. Dé website voor als je echt geen inspiratie hebt, of als je je verveelt op school (zoals bij mij nu het geval is..!)

Nu we toch in de 'Art' hoek bezig zijn..

Gisteren hadden ze het in college over het postmodernisme en de wereldberoemde held Andy Warhol. Ik ben zo blij dat ik vorig jaar naar de Andy Warhol expositie in het Post Cs gebouw ben geweest!

Warhol is echt mijn held. Ik ben sowieso wel gek op kunst, niet zo heel raar als je ziet dat ik ook van mode en fotografie hou. Dat zit allemaal wel redelijk dicht bij elkaar...

Natuurlijk kan een voorbeeldje van één van de meesterwerken van Warhol geen kwaad, dus voor de liefhebber! (sorry, ik krijg m niet kleiner!)

De Winterblues

Nee geen winterblouse, maar de winterblues. Je merkt het aan de kou, de hoeveelheid regen, de kleding in de winkels en zelfs aan de mensen; het wordt weer bijna winter.

Herfst en winter vind ik eigenlijk vrijwel hetzelfde. Alletwee koud en nat. De winter is alleen nóg kouder. Blegh. De herfst is nog maar net begonnen en ik mis de zomer nu al. Niet meer spontaan naar het strand, waar ik altijd wel een bekende tref. Niet meer uren in mijn favoriete strandtent doorbrengen met vriendinnen, tijdschriften, boeken en tapenada. Geen nachtelijke strandfeesten meer tot vroeg in de morgen. Niet meer surfen. Geen festivals. Geen vrolijke rokjes en teenslippers.

Is er eigenlijk wel iets leuks aan de winter?
Ik moet van mezelf focussen op de leuke dingen in de winter, anders overleef ik het niet. Kerst is leuk! Ja, gezellig. Nieuwjaar is altijd een feest, dit jaar ga ik het vieren in Parijs. Heerlijk. Gek doen in de sneeuw (áls die valt dit jaar). Veel nieuwe fabulous laarzen.
Okay, de winter kan best leuk zijn. Om mezelf in de stemming te brengen, ga ik lekker op zoek naar een geweldige gebreide shawl, het twaalfhonderdste paar laarzen (lichtelijk overdreven) en wat leuke winterjurkjes.
Winter, here I come!

PARIS! Je vais á Paris!

3 keer is scheepsrecht, zeggen ze wel eens. Nou, we zullen zien. Na op de middelbare school uitgeloot te zijn voor een reisje naar Parijs en vorig jaar na alles geboekt te hebben opeens te horen te krijgen dat de Thalys overgeboekt was, zit het er nu dan eindelijk aan te komen! Ik ga naar Parijs. Mijn droomstad.
Ik ga niet zomaar, nee ik ga nieuwjaar vieren. Al sinds dat idee bij mij opkwam, droom ik over nieuwjaar in Parijs. Ik zie mezelf al staan, in een geweldig cocktailjurkje op high-heels samen met een vriendinnetje. Een dikke fles Champagne in onze handen. Voor de eiffeltoren.
Natuurlijk gaan we die nacht keihard feesten en strompelen we met onze hakken in onze handen op blote voeten naar het hotel waar we dromend in slaap vallen.
Does life get any better? Zucht.

Amsterdam inspiratiestad

Ik studeer in Amsterdam, dé Nederlandse modestad bij uitstek. Veel fotografen, modejournalisten en modeontwerpers vanuit de hele wereld komen naar Amsterdam om daar fashion-inspiratie op te doen. Zelf word ik ook heel erg geïnspireerd door alle modebewuste of juist onbewuste mensen in Amsterdam. De überhippe studenten of juist de quasi-nonchalante Noordermarktbezoekers zijn een ontzettend grote inspiratiebron. Als je een keer totaal al je inspiratie verloren bent, op het gebied van bijvoorbeeld mode of kunst, kan ik je aanraden om een dag door te brengen op een terrasje in Amsterdam en lekker mensen te gaan zitten kijken. Je moet natuurlijk niet op de Kalverstraat ronddolen, want daar vind je louter toeristen en in ieder geval bijna geen locals. Als je dieper Amsterdam ingaat, en vooral in de buurt van de vintage marktjes (Noordermarkt, Waterlooplein etc), of vintage winkeltjes (Laura Dolls, Zipper etc) vind je veel fashionlovers. Het mooie vind ik altijd dat in Amsterdam zelden één stijl overheerst, het is een gigantische mix van allerlei stijlen, en juist daardoor ben ik altijd bommetje vol inspiratie na een dagje Amsterdam. Om jullie zonder een trein –of fietsreis toch te voorzien van een beetje inspiratie heb ik wat heerlijke plaatjes opgezocht. Enjoy!
